Andrew Jean-Charles
Yale University
Political Science with Human Rights Certificate
Andrew Jean-Charles is a sophomore at Yale University studying Political Science and Human Rights. He is a pre-law student from Long Island, New York. He plans to work in the legal field, engaging in areas such as civil rights law, community organizing, education, and politics. Andrew is very passionate about amending the practices of institutionalized marginalization of oppressed groups in New York and more generally in the United States by approaching the legal system with compassion. Furthermore, he aims to uplift minority groups historically barred from higher education and equitable treatment under the law and has done so by serving as a mentor for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s Youth Leadership Institute and previously working as an intern for the New York Urban League in Manhattan, NY. Additionally, Andrew aspires to connect with his community through music, singing in the Yale Glee Club and in his a cappella group, Shades of Yale.

Brianna Newton

Psychology: Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience and Neurobiology; Minor in Chemistry
Bri Newton is a proud first-generation student who comes from a family of traveling street vendors. Despite setbacks in her academic life due to her family’s work obligations, she is currently pursuing degrees in Psychology: Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience and Neurobiology with a minor in Chemistry at UCSD. She has extensive experience in researching traumatic brain injuries using rodent models and volunteers in the spinal cord injury unit at the VA Medical Center to interact with the patient demographic she will serve in the future. Outside of science, she participates in competitive eSports playing Splatoon 3 against teams from across the nation. Additionally, she prides herself in being a competitive speaker on her university’s debate team, specializing in limited preparation events to convey complex topics to a general audience. Bri aims to obtain an M.D./Ph.D., focusing on diseases and disorders of the central nervous system, combining her passion for interdisciplinary studies, healthcare, science, and mentorship.

Dajuantay Wynter

Educational Studies and American Culture Studies
Da'juantay Wynter is a senior at Washington University in St. Louis, pursuing degrees in Educational Studies and American Culture Studies. A proven leader and passionate advocate for educational equity, he aims to transform the U.S. public school system, informed by his own experiences. At WashU, he has served as President of the Association of Black Students and a peer coach at the Learning Center, among other impactful roles. Da'juantay is currently a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholar studying abroad in Amsterdam.

Jacob Fernandez
San Diego State University
Computer Engineering
Jacob Fernandez is a third-year Computer Engineering major at San Diego State University. Last year, he was the SDSU College Ambassador for the non-profit Reality Changers. In the role, he helped first-generation students transition from high school to college. He helped connect many Reality Changer alumni to multiple on-campus resources to familiarize them with their new campus. Over the summer, Jacob served as a Student Intern with the City of San Diego, where he explored various city departments, collaborated with team members, and presented solutions to department heads during weekly presentations. Jacob continues to work with the City of San Diego and Reality Changers to be proactive for his community and professional career.

Noor Alaramadan

Media Studies with a concentration in Media Law and Policy; Minor in Education
Noor Alramadan is a driven, first-generation third-year studying media studies with a concentration in media law and policy and a minor in education at UC Berkeley. As the daughter of immigrant parents in a dual-heritage household from Nicaragua and Iraq, her upbringing has shaped her values toward education and human rights advocacy. She is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in higher education and professional spaces, grounded by her lived experiences growing up in Chula Vista and attending public K-12 schools. Her passion for public service is rooted in her experience as a longtime Girl Scout in San Diego, where she was involved in various community service projects since second grade. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she completed the prestigious Gold Award Project that addressed educational barriers for English as a Second Language (ESL) students through virtual reading sessions. On campus, she has committed to executive boards in Bridges Mixed at Berkeley, the Iraqi Student Union, and the Associated Students of the University of California. Her career aspirations in policy grew through fellowships supporting her endeavors working in state and federal government agencies. After her undergrad, she aspires to attend graduate or law school and pursue a longtime career working as a leader in public service and continuously advocating for underrepresented communities.

Nyree Oliver
Rutgers University
Business Administration (BS/MBA)
Nyree Oliver is a Medical Coder & Biller for the Cardiology Department at Cooper University Hospital, where she utilizes her expertise in medical coding and billing to ensure accurate documentation, compliance with healthcare regulations, and efficient reimbursement processes. Nyree holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Camden County College and is currently pursuing a BS/MBA with a certification in leadership at Rutgers University, where she is expected to graduate in May 2026. While at Rutgers, Nyree has earned recognition for her outstanding academic achievements, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. She has been listed as one of Rutgers University’s Undergraduate Student Spotlights and has been accepted into several prestigious organizations, including the Tri Alpha Honor Society, Trio Scholars SSS, Scarlet Scholars, and OSDA Fellows. Nyree is also an alumna of Hopeworks N' Camden, a nonprofit organization focused on empowering youth through education and job training. Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Nyree is committed to personal and professional growth and has long-term aspirations of becoming the CEO of her own coding firm.​

Reyna Paulina Cruz Valenzuela

Reyna Paulina Cruz Valenzuela, a Pomona College undergraduate, studies Political Science and Chicano/Latino Studies. Proudly rooted in her Mexican heritage and Phoenix upbringing, Reyna is devoted to advancing equity and justice. Passionate about empowering underserved communities, she examines marginalized histories and fosters transformative change through cultural and critical frameworks.

Saif El Mosalami
Pitzer College
Middle Eastern Studies
Saif El Mosalami is a junior at Pitzer College majoring in Middle Eastern Studies on the pre-law track. Growing up in New York City, he learned from a young age that community is everything—and that these groups are the first line of defense against any form of carceral, oppressive state action. He has interned at the Arab American Civic Council, drafting the MENA bill. Saif has also supported refugee-led organizations in Egypt with translation, proposal and grant writing, and sustainable project building. On campus, he stays active through the SWANA (South-West Asian and North African) affinity group, wrestling, and long study sessions in the residential life office. Because of his privileged identities—being a college student, U.S. citizen, bilingual, and a man—he hopes to be a legal and academic resource for the most marginalized. Saif is particularly interested in researching the intersections of Indigenous Turtle Island legal practices and Islamic Sharia frameworks to build alternatives to state-centered international law. With that in mind, he also plans to pursue a legal degree in his study of the Western legal systems and highlight its contradictions in a way that’s accessible and digestible.

Sandy Basaka

Sandy Basaka is a junior at San Diego State University, majoring in Finance with a minor in Management. She has gained invaluable experience interning at numerous startups and is the 2024 Regional Champion of the Venture Capital Investment Competition. In the summer of 2025, Sandy will join Qualcomm as a finance intern. With a strong passion for innovation and technology, she founded UniExchange, an online marketplace app exclusively for college students, designed to facilitate safe and efficient transactions. After facing challenges with platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Sandy was inspired to create a space that caters to the unique needs of students. Driven by her ambition and love for the tech industry, she is committed to changing the world, one innovation at a time.

Yinglin Nie

Economics and Data Science
Yinglin Nie is a current student at UC Berkeley studying Economics and Data Science. She is interested in the intersection of business, real estate, and community development and hopes to pursue a career in real estate development and operational initiatives that promote economic mobility and equitable housing opportunities. At UC Berkeley, she is a project manager for DAIRE (Diversity and Inclusion in Real Estate), where she organizes mentorship programs, networking events, career workshops, and client development projects to expand support and resources for underrepresented students interested in real estate. Yinglin is passionate about creating pathways for economic empowerment and hopes to give back to communities by fostering inclusive and accessible opportunities, not only in real estate but also across various sectors that drive social and economic equity. In her free time, Yinglin enjoys painting, reading, volunteering, and site viewing.​
